First time cruising with P&O. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Entertainment was great and varied to suit all kinds of people. The Pacific Eden is a smaller ship but had everything you needed. I enjoyed the adrenaline (The Edge) activities that they had to offer on board to kill some
extra time. However, on a longer cruise I feel you would be bored towards the end of the cruise. Some more fun activities to engage you around the ship on sea days would be good. Food was outstanding. Plenty of choice and the specialty restaurants were very nice with the Italian and Asian restaurants at no extra cost (You just had to book, get in early or miss out) I enjoyed the ship, staff and facilities and visiting Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands and have already booked my next cruise back there. :)
From the rude staff at check in, through to the sub standard quality of the food (note that dinners in the restaurant were 3 courses, not 4 and serving sizes were so small) this truly was a very disapppointing experience. It was hard to get the attention of staff in any of the bars/lounges to order
a drink. Full priced cocktails were actually mocktails with no evidence of alcohol. The buffet menu didn't change each day and the standard of the food was very poor. For example the scrambled eggs were not made from real eggs! The bacon was like leather. There was one type of toast offered at breakfast - no bagels or croissants which you would expect for the price paid. I was charged mandatory gratuity for spa services. Entertainment was well below the standard I have experienced on other cruises. And to top it all off I was told I would need to use a wheelchair for health & safety reasons (I walk with a cane & do not use a wheelchair). I was aghast! I am arranging a cruise for family members next year and will not book with P&O again. Their advertising for this cruise was entirely misleading.
For our first group booking cruise we had a great holiday!
The quad oceanview cabin was clean, pretty spacious & was really quite peaceful.
The kids club wasn't what our almost 10yr old kids were into but the Egde package was the best money spent!
The food was great but it was a shame it stopped at 9pm :(
We are planning another cruise very soon.
Room and Crew were lovely. Top price for very average food in package, lovely if you paid at one of the restaurants. Entertainment poor unless you liked Bingo or Trivia. Shows very basic. Booked for Rock and Roll-ended up being food and wine with charges for the food and wine tastings. Bronte and
Dom were just fantastic as was Chef Daniel. I also enjoyed the very rough weather! Many cruislings didn't, so pleased we did finally head out on Saturday morning as staying at White Bay Terminal would have been....the final straw!
Not a good experience for my first ever cruise.
we went on state of origin cruise in 2016 to syd would have to say it was the most enjoyable cruise we have done met some great people from both sides of the border and had plenty of friendly banter going back and forward, most meals in the plantation and dined with complete strangers each night but
by the end of the night they were like old friends.only down side was the trip out to the ground for the game we struck a bus driver who did not seem to know his way round syd to well and it took nearly two hours to get there different driver going back to the dawn 55 mins.all in all great trip and doing again this year on aria hope it is just as good and meet some old friends again plus some new ones.
Loved everything about our recent cruise on the Pacific Pearl. Staff were amazing! So much to do on board. What was so great was if you wanted to find a crowd you could but if you wanted to find a quiet place by yourselves that was just as easy. Went with my husband and loved it so much that we
booked to take the teenagers in October. I would highly recommend spending a bit more and get a window. Also if you get sea sick make sure to book on the lower floor in the middle of the ship. Oh and don't forget to take lanyards for your id. That was one thing no one told me about and you will pay more money on board to buy one when you can get these at the dollar store.
I have been on the Dawn on 3 cruises total 36 nights NZ, Fiji, Vanuatu. I have found it to be the best way of spending my hard earned money for a vacation. Everything is great about this ship and cruise line. Staff are so good at looking after you no matter what. Thanks to P & O also putting
together the premium drink package with my booking, makes the cruises very good value for money. Going on 4th cruise in June, can't wait to see the refurb
cairns to Sydney November 2016 wow we loved had the best time sailing under the Sydney harbour bridge was a dream come true.
