Sea Princess Overview
Launched in 1998, the Sea Princess cruise ship is a reliable, comfortable vessel with a varied itinerary that takes her all over the world. She belongs to the Sun Class of ships of Princess cruises and her sister vessels are Sun Princess and Dawn Princess.
The Sea Princess specs
Weighing 77,499 tonnes, measuring 857 feet in length and spanning 15 decks, the Sea Princess is a large, spacious ship. She can accommodate 1,950 passengers and 910 crew members. Her cruise speed is 22.4 knots.
Inside the Sea Princess
Last refurbished in December 2012, the Sea Princess is in excellent condition but still retains a lot of the original decor for which she is well loved. Interiors are refined and elegant; think red and gold colour schemes and rich wooden finishings. The cabins are light and airy, decorated mostly in peach with gold trim.
Things to do on board the Sea Princess
Entertainment options abound, from enrichment classes and trivia games by day to production shows and live music by night. The Sea Princess caters to people of all ages and interests. Whether you're in the mood for socialising by the pool, playing a game of Shuffleboard or relaxing in the library with a good book, you'll find a venue or activity to suit you.
Sea Princess restaurants and bars
One of the best things about going on a cruise is the chance to sample a range of different cuisines and flavours. The Sea Princess definitely doesn't disappoint in this department! Between the elegant main dining rooms, the grill and the buffet, your taste buds will be absolutely spoiled for choice - and that's without even mentioning the cafes and specialty restaurants.
After dinner, embark on a taste sensation of a different kind at one of the ship's many bars and lounges. Here you'll find an impressive collection of fine wines, beers and premium spirits, as well as a good range of non-alcoholic beverages.
The Sea Princess itineraries and shore excursions
Sailing mostly out of Sydney, the Sea Princess has a varied schedule, with short trips to Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the Pacific Islands, as well as several long, around-the-world journeys every year. The shore excursions available will of course depend on your chosen destination, but you can expect a wide range of tours to choose from. Some examples include a visit to a Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane, a jet boat ride in Auckland Harbour and a Hop On Hop Off bus tour in Brussels.
Cabins on board the Sea Princess

Entertainment on board the Sea Princess cruise ship
The Sea Princess by day
A perfect day on board the Sea Princess cruise ship would go something like this: enjoy a leisurely breakfast at one of the many eateries before taking a stroll through the boutique shops to snap up a great duty-free bargain.
Next, join an enrichment class or a trivia game and meet some of your fellow cruisers. By then, it'll probably be time to eat again - opt for full service in one of the restaurants or grab a delicious snack at the Riviera Grill.
If the sun is out, spend the afternoon lounging by the pool or relaxing at the Sanctuary, the adults-only retreat. If the weather isn't playing nice, treat yourself to a massage at the Lotus Spa, attend an art auction or curl up with a good book in the library, before heading to the Wheelhouse Bar for a pre-dinner drink.
Pools and fitness facilities on board the Sea Princess
Take your pick from four pool areas, as well as six jacuzzis. The Riviera Pool is the place to go for family friendly fun, while the Lotus Spa Pool had a more low-key atmosphere.
Stay fit with a game of basketball at the Sports Court, or hit the gym at the Lotus Spa Gym & Fitness Area. This facility is well-equipped with cardio equipment and free weights, and there are trained professionals on hand to help you make the most of your workout. A selection of group fitness classes are also available, such as Yoga and Pilates.
Sea Princess nightlife
A cruise on board the Sea Princess would be incomplete without a night at the Princess Theater. Home to superb production shows and a range of other live performances, from magicians to comedians, this venue promises a great night out.
Other great spots to check out during your time at sea are the Vista Show Lounge and the Monte Carlo Club Casino; both places are popular from the early evening onwards. When it comes to relaxing with a nice glass of wine, settle in at the Wheelhouse Bar and watch the world go by.
Worried about missing a big game when you're at sea? Never fear; the Sports Bar shows important matches when possible and is a great venue for a cold beer even when there is nothing on.
If it's dancing you're looking for, put on your best dancing shoes and head straight to the Razzmatazz Nightclub. Open til late, this venue plays all your favourite tunes and is the great place to let your hair down and celebrate being on holiday.
The Sea Princess for families
Families are made to feel extremely welcome as soon as they step foot on the Sea Princess. Like all Princess cruises, this ship offers excellent children's programmes and facilities.
Kids are organised into groups based on their age; the Princess Pelicans for ages 3 to 7, Shockwaves for ages 8 to 12 and Remix for ages 13 to 17. Each group is assigned experienced youth leaders, who organise fun games and activities for their delegated age group. Little ones will be kept entertained with arts and crafts and kids' karaoke, while tweens and teens will likely be found playing the latest video games or watching a film.
Private in-cabin babysitting is not available, but group babysitting runs from 10pm to 1am for a small hourly fee per child. The children's programmes generally closes for meal times, but youth staff occasionally organise group dinners, the perfect opportunity for parents to enjoy a quiet meal alone sans kids.
Please note that children under three years of age must be supervised by an adult at all times.
