Majestic Princess Overview

Majestic Princess cruise ship

The third ship in the Royal Princess class, the Majestic Princess is the newest addition to the Princess Cruises fleet. She made her debut in 2017, this brand new vessel features the latest and greatest in ship technology.

Currently home porting in Shanghai and offering cruises for the Chinese market year round, she will make her way to Sydney for the 2018/2019 summer season. This will be the largest Princess ship ever to be based in Australia and the first Down Under vessel to feature dining options from two Michelin starred chefs.

While much of her design is based on the same outline as sister ships Royal Princess and Regal Princess, she is the first ship in the fleet to feature the new Seawitch livery design, where her hair flows from the bow of the vessel back towards the stern. Majestic Princess is also the first to offer an over-the-ocean glass walkway called the SeaWalk.

As always, she will embody the Princess motto ‘Come back new' with everything you need from a holiday to make you feel refreshed.

Food: Majestic Princess restaurants

The Majestic Princess is a foodie paradise, with a vast range of dining options so divine it's worth cruising just to get a taste. The hub of the restaurant experience is the Main Dining Room, where you can opt for traditional seating arrangements at set times, or pop in for a meal at a time of your choosing from 5.30pm to 10pm. The World Fresh Marketplace is another popular dining area, featuring a collection of food stations with cuisine from all over the world. Other options covered in the cruise fare include a noodle bar, pizzeria, lobster and dim sum bar, and a bakery.

Speciality dining takes it a step further with unforgettable meals at a small additional cost.

The French bistro-style restaurant, Le Mar, serves dishes by Emmanuel Renault, a renowned chef whose restaurant has been awarded three Michelin stars. Or book a table at Harmony for Cantonese meals that have been created in collaboration with another Michelin star recipient Wing Lei.

Bars and more: Evenings on board the Majestic Princess

When the sun goes down, you'll have plenty of options for lounging and tasting your way around the ship. Enjoy speciality wine and cocktail bars such as Bellini's, the Fountain Pool Bar, the Wake View Bar, the Seaview Bar, and the Leaves Tea Bar.

If passive entertainment is more your style, you can check out the Princess Watercolor Fantasy Show, where jets of water shoot 33 feet into the air, or simply sit back and watch a live performance in the Princess Theater.

Feeling lucky? The casino is always an option.

Majestic Princess activities, pool and fitness

Princess' Activity Central is the go-to area for active cruisers. The main court is equipped for tennis, badminton, volleyball, and basketball. You can also practice your putting on the mini green and perfect your swing in the driving cage.

Keeping to a routine? The Lotus Spa Fitness Center offers everything you need to get your workout on. Use the extensive collection of weights and machines to work out on your own time, or try a personal training session. For a more social experience, join a group class such as pilates, yoga, boot camp, or TRX suspension training.

The freshwater pool and hot tub are the ideal ways to cool off or warm up as you relax with a cocktail. This Hollywood Pool Club area is chic and calm during the day, but transforms into a lively nightclub once the sun goes down.

Cabins on board the Majestic Princess

The Majestic Princess has a capacity of 3,560 passengers with more than 1780 cabins. All are well appointed with modern and comfortable decor, featuring - at minimum - a private ensuite, refrigerator, hair dryer, closet, flat-panel TV, and complimentary room service.

More than 80 per cent of the staterooms on Majestic offer private balconies, a feature that Princess consistently does well.

Higher end offerings include deluxe balcony rooms, mini-suites, Club Class rooms, and the ultimate in luxury: the suite. Suites include everything from the previous classes and more, such as additional living space, floor-to-ceiling sliding doors, a walk-in closet, complimentary laundry services and mini-bar set ups. Suite guests will also be invited to the Exclusive Elite Lounge with complimentary hors d'oeuvres, and given access to an exclusive disembarkation lounge.

Majestic Princess pools and more

The freshwater pools on board the Majestic Princess are all about relaxation. Take a dip or simply curl up on the poolside sunloungers with your favourite book and a refreshing cocktail. The whirling hot tubs are just as enticing and the perfect way to unwind after a long day of shore excursions.

Majestic also features a Princess favourite, The Lotus Spa. Awarded the ‘Best Spa on a Cruise Ship' by Spafinder Wellness 365, it offers many crowd pleasing treatments. Try a detoxifying ocean wrap, a facial, or an aroma stone therapy massage. The salon also offers hair dressing for men and women, teeth whitening, and manicures and pedicures.

One of the most innovative features on board is the stunning Sea Walk - a walkway that takes you out over the edge of the ship and above the ocean. This glass-bottom path at 128 feet above the sea is the perfect spot to bring your drink, stroll around and simply watch the world go by.

Majestic Princess daily schedules

Each day, the Princess Patter will be delivered to your room. This brochure features everything you need to know for the day, such as tips and advice for going on shore, as well as opening hours for the spa, fitness centre and bars. It will include the time of sunrise and sunset, fun facts and more. Here are a few examples of what you might find:

  • Shore excursions
  • Casino tournaments
  • Live performances
  • Trivia and bingo
  • Movie screenings
  • Singles & solos meet-ups

In the evening

There's so much on each evening you'll need the Princess Patter to help you decide what to do. There are outdoor Movies Under the Stars, the Princess Watercolor Fantasy Show, broadway-style productions in the Princess Theatre, guest entertainers, and original musical productions.

Princess Live! adds another interesting feature to the ship, as this television show is produced onboard and hosts interactive culinary shows, concerts, game shows and more.

Majestic Princess for families

The Majestic Princess offers three separate kids groups for the young ones: Princess Pelicans (ages 3-7), Shockwaves (ages 8-12) and Remix (ages 13-17).

Groups can spend supervised time in an array of activities with kids of their own age. Through various programs, they can learn about endangered animals, try hands-on experiments, and make mini solar systems. There's even the Jr.CHEF@Sea class which instructs kids on how to bake delicious cakes and cupcakes.

Each group has a dedicated space in which to relax, and many of the ship's other activities (such as ping pong and swimming) are family-friendly as well.
