Fiji's third largest city, Nadi is home to the country's primary international airport and therefore serves as a hub for visitors arriving and departing. It has all the required infrastructure for travelers to get themselves sorted before heading out on their next adventure. A multi-cultural place, it offers many options for accommodation and dining in the small city, and makes an excellent base for activities in the region.
There is also great transport infrastructure around the city, making it easy to get to nearby Port Denarau for your cruise out of Nadi. The port on Denarau Island is where you'll find many upscale resorts, a golf club, a busy shopping mall and the marina where cruise ships and other boats depart for the beautiful island chains off the coast of Nadi. Nadi cruise lines and destinations
You won't find any big-ship lines departing here like the ones you might see in Sydney, Brisbane or other major South Pacific ports - Nadi is the domain of island-hopping vessels which will get cruisers up close and personal with the beautiful Fijian islands. Blue Lagoon Cruises and Captain Cook Cruises Fiji both depart here very regularly. Larger cruise lines do occasionally pass by the area with cruises from Sydney to Fiji and Brisbane to Fiji being popular options. Cruise lines which visit the area include Blue Lagoon cruises, Captain Cook cruises, P&O, Princess and cruises with Celebrity.
Cruises from Nadi needn't go far to find some fabulous ports of call. The Mamanuca Islands and Yasawa Islands are the primary destinations, and most itineraries pack in more beaches than there are days or nights on the cruise. From the gorgeous Modriki Island (which co-starred in Castaway with Tom Hanks and his volleyball) and the secluded Yasawa isles to friendly Fijian villages like Tamusua and even the occasional jaunt up to the country's other main island, Vanua Levu, the Fiji cruises on offer are unforgettable experiences.
Nadi cruise port
The primary cruise port at Nadi is the Port Denarau marina, a short drive from the city. Most lines will offer free shuttles to get there, but if not it isn't a problem to find a taxi or bus. The port area is home to a shopping centre called the Port at Denarau, as well as many restaurants - a lovely place to depart on your cruise to or from Fiji.
As the ships are reasonably small and do not travel internationally, getting onboard at Port Denarau is a breeze.
