Week Tropique: Domestic Delights in Queensland

Barrier Reef Discovery

The Week Tropique cruise, now renamed the Barrier Reef Discovery Cruise, allows cruisers to enjoy the tropics and discover the world's largest coral reef and other wonders of Australia. Australian passengers can experience a wonderful week of sun, sand and adventure without even leaving the country, and international passengers will love the opportunity to visit some of the best parts of the world's smallest continent- or biggest island.

The Week Tropique or Barrier Reef Discovery cruise by P&O Australia departs from Brisbane and lasts seven nights. It is a very popular itinerary, and there are regular departures throughout the whole year- this made possible by the region's wonderful tropical climate! Ports of call on the cruise are Airlie Beach, Cairns, Port Douglas and scenic cruising at Willis Island.

Reef Cruises

The Great Barrier Reef is obviously a highlight of this cruise, and it can be visited and dived upon with shore tours via the cruise line or independently from Airlie Beach or Cairns. Be warned that independent touring comes with a risk of missing the boat if you are delayed! Other great things to see and do, which are also available via cruise line-approved shore tours, are the Daintree rainforest and mountain biking in Port Douglas, sailing or sea kayaking in the Whitsundays and the Skyrail and Kuranda Village in Cairns.
