The Pacific Jewel is a vessel that’s well known to Down Under cruise enthusiasts. Even one of the newest cruisers at Cruise Sale Finder had the chance to sail aboard the Jewel last year, but this familiar vessel is now set to wow regular P&O guests with an exciting new face.
P&O’s Pacific Jewel has just undergone a 10-day dry dock in Sydney, during which she’ll be getting a serious revamp. In February we released an earlier version of this article with preview renders of the Jewel's updated public spaces, but we can now show you real pictures of the actual refurbished spaces! Don’t forget: you can see all the improvements for yourself first hand when you book a cruise aboard P&O’s Pacific Jewel.
Shell & Bones is an all new dining experience for the Pacific Jewel, featuring classic surf ‘n turf fare like Queensland crab, South Australian blue mussels, beef short ribs and roast chicken. There are even vegetarian options if that’s your thing, and desserts to top it all off.
The outdoor lawn bowling green is another new addition to the Pacific Jewel. While away a lazy afternoon in the sun when you challenge your friends or family to a casual round of lawn bowls.
The atrium is the central hub for just about any cruise ship, so it makes sense that the Jewel is getting a fresh new take on its own atrium space.
For many P&O passengers, the Connextions Bar is their late night venue of choice. This is a space where you can sit back with a drink in hand, hang out with a few friends and enjoy some live music. The Pacific Jewel will be featuring a fresh new look for Connextions, so be sure to head there for at least one evening next time you cruise on the Jewel.
Another evening destination which is getting an overhaul is The Orient, a classy but casual pub-style venue where you can savour a quiet ale or cider as the night winds down.
