The partnership of Princess Cruises and Curtis Stone is well underway, with the line announcing the latest detail on Tuesday: the brand-new specialty restaurant that is the brainchild of Chef Stone himself.
The fantastic new eatery is in addition to special "Crafted by Curtis" menu items available at no extra charge in the main restaurants across the fleet. These will first be available onboard the Golden Princess as she begins her summer season in Princess Cruises' Australia fleet, sailing from Melbourne. The partnership also includes "Curtis Stone's Chef's Table Experience" which makes an appearance in early 2016.
SHARE by Curtis Stone
The new restaurant, to be called "SHARE by Curtis Stone" will first open during January 2016 on the Coral Princess as she cruises the Panama Canal. The Ruby Princess and Emerald Princess are the next ships to be fitted, in April 2016, and SHARE's Australian debut is set for the same month aboard the Sun Princess.
As can be discerned by the name, the restaurant will offer a menu of dishes designed for sharing. The intention is to create an environment that encourages conversation, connection and shared experiences, and a friendly vibe as soon as cruisers enter the space.
Besides the shared-plate dining experience, the restaurant will feature communal tables, leather banquette seating and items of interest on the wall to spark discussion. Warm lighting and some personal touches in the decor will make for an intimate and comfortable atmosphere.
Company president Jan Schwartz says that Princess is honoured to host Chef Stone's first restaurant at sea. "We know our guests will enjoy the menu Chef Stone has created for SHARE and we're sure they will also feel right at home dining in his new restaurant, just like we hope they always feel on a Princess cruise vacation."
The concept stems from the chef's fond childhood memories of family meals which were all about spending time together. He considers family-style dining the most enjoyable way to eat, commenting "I love the process of passing plates amongst each other and creating meaningful connections through the food and conversation."
"I've worked feverishly to create elegant, tasty dishes that I'm really proud to serve in a beautiful and relaxed environment, and I'm excited that SHARE is set to become a special part of people's holiday memories and experience at sea" he added.
Come Back New
SHARE and the other aspects of Princess Cruises' partnership with Curtis Stone are a part of their "Come Back New" brand promise. It involves a range of onboard experiences and culinary offerings designed to take guests' cruise holidays to the next level and ensure they return refreshed and with great new memories.
Other food-related aspects of the initiative include "Chocolate Journeys" by master chocolatier Norman Stone and the "Seawitch" craft beer series brewed especially for the line and found in bars across the fleet. On the entertainment and learning front, Princess have introduced four original Broadway shows in conjunction with award-winning composer Stephen Schwartz, a "North to Alaska" enrichment program for cruises in the northerly state and "Discovery at Sea" activities which include stargazing, Animal Planet shore excursions and more.
Take a look at the many itineraries available from Princess Cruises and find a cruise that suits you! The upcoming summer season will see five Princess ships based Down Under, with cheap cruises from Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Fremantle to bring the "Come Back New" experience to cruisers all over Australia.
