Your chance to see the world

Cruise Around the World

Is "circumnavigate the earth" on your to-do list? It should be! Seeing the world in one journey sounds like a lot of work, but with a fabulous World Cruise from one of our favourite cruise lines, it is a dream come true. Here is your chance to see the world with great prices on a huge range of incredible voyages.

A taste of the itineraries

Princess is a great choice for this type of cruising, especially for Australian cruisers. Their ships departing Sydney uses AUD as the onboard currency and adopts the Aussie approach to tipping- i.e, it is unnecessary. These are two of our favourite itineraries amongst the many you will find in the sale:

The Circle Pacific Roundtrip is not a full circumnavigation but still manages to hit three continents and some beautiful tropical islands over a fabulous 75 nights. This popular cruise is back on the market after 4 years and covers exotic Asian ports like Kota Kinabalu, Hong Kong, Tianjin and more, five amazing Alaskan destinations, and plenty of South Pacific islands including Hawaii and Tahiti. In true leisurely extended-cruise style, there are overnight stays in several ports so that you can explore fully- Shanghai is one of these.

The Princess Sydney Departure World Cruise in 2016 is absolutely the trip of a lifetime. This one makes the full circuit and calls in to 55 destinations over 104 nights. Done it before? 11 new ports have been added to the roster to change it up and make for a fresh new journey. From Sydney, the ship heads along Australia's south coast and across to exciting India and the sparkling cities of the Middle East. A quick trip through the Suez Canal brings you to the plentiful history and beautiful ports in the Mediterranean and Europe, then comes a transatlantic crossing to visit Canada and New England. South America's vibrant harbours are next, and then the ship returns home across the Pacific with a few stops in the paradises that are Hawaii and French Polynesia. The biggest port cities require overnight stays, and this cruise has them in St Petersburg, Dubai, New York and Lima.

Benefits of cruising

We live in an amazing world. From the living history of Europe to the cutting-edge modernity of the Middle East, the jaw-dropping fjords of Alaska to the sparkling white beaches of southeast Asia and everything in between, the variety of sights, sounds, scents and experiences is unfathomable. Yet, not everyone is keen to do the hard work that often accompanies travel.

The convenience of a cruise as a way to see the world is unparallelled. Unpack once and settle into your stateroom, and that is it for the next few months. There's no need to stuff everything back in your suitcase to catch a plane, no worries about liquids and carry-on and sleeping bags- instead you can set up a home base for the entirety of the voyage and relax until the day of disembarkation arrives.

A unique perspective

A world cruise allows you to take it all in and get some perspective on this globe we call home. Flying from place to place is certainly speedy, but a sea journey allows you to truly feel the distance and experience the scale of our impressive oceans.

Cruising the coastlines of the different continents offers up some views that you would miss in a plane or train, and the skylines of the many port cities are particularly striking from the water!

A trip that is truly relaxing

Cruising as a way of travelling is unhurried and enjoyable, and the ships themselves provide plenty of activities and facilities to keep the passengers entertained and comfortable whilst between ports. Crossing the Atlantic or Pacific is reminiscent of the glamorous heyday of ocean travel- and nowadays everyone gets the first class treatment.

Wake up each morning to a different place, be it a new stretch of ocean or a beautiful new city, and escape the nasty effects of jetlag that come with passing through many time zones in just a few hours.

Shorter trips preferred?

If a full world cruise won't fit into your budget or schedule, there are options to complete a sector. These range from a week or so to more than 50 nights, and are a great way to experience a select part of the globe, or to get a taste of world cruising without breaking the bank. The huge variety of sectors mean you can pick and choose the ports which most appeal to you.

Participating ships

I have enjoyed visiting as much of the world as possible over the years. Europe and the Mediterranean are personal favourites, but there is so much to see very close to our little Australasian corner of the globe- one of my top travel experiences was snorkeling with tropical fish and turtles in New Caledonia! Cruising is a fantastic way to see it all, and we hope to make booking a cruise easier for both first-timers and old salts. From ship tips to destination news and views, we will keep you up-to-date. Happy cruising!
