With more and more cruise ships sailing the waters around Australia and New Zealand, it’s not hard to find a voyage close to home - but sometimes cruising familiar waters just isn’t good enough. Fortunately, there is a whole world of cruise opportunities out there. To drive this point home, Royal Caribbean has just announced its Europe sailings for next year, available to book now. From sparkling Scandinavian waters to the sun baked shores of the Mediterranean, Royal Caribbean will be introducing guests to the finest that Europe has to offer.

The Explorer of the Seas will be taking over from Navigator of the Seas, cruising European waters in 2019..

Explorer of the Seas

The Explorer will be shifting its focus from the icy grandeur of Alaska to Western Europe over the Northern Hemisphere summer. This 4200-guest vessel will be setting out on sailings from Southampton, UK and calling in to cities like Stockholm, Florence and Naples. Explorer of the Seas will also be taking on back-to-back sailings between Sydney and Southampton, offering guests the chance to try out a world voyage. A special visit to Olden, Norway (the first in three years) is also on the cards. This dozy wee village is the perfect launchpad for those who are keen to see some of Norway’s most spectacular natural wonders, including the largest glacier in mainland Europe, the clear blue waters of the Nordfjord and towering mountains rising in the distance.

Fancy cruising around Ibiza in 2019? The Independence of the Seas has you covered..

Independence of the Seas

The Independence of the Seas will also be sailing out of Southampton and calling in to Italian destinations like Naples and Florence. However, in addition to these charming cruise staples, the Independence will also be visiting idyllic Ibiza for the first time in four years. The Independence of the Seas will be heading into 2019 fresh from a multi-million dollar makeover which will add all kinds of new exciting features to the ship. Among the new additions are:

    • the Sky Pad, a virtual reality enhanced bungee trampoline experience
    • Splashaway Bay, an interactive waterpark which has been a hit on other RC ships
    • Puzzle Break, an all new Escape Room
    • and a glow-in-the-dark Laser Tag arena
