Make the most of this special cruising event

With Cruise Week 2015 fast approaching, now's the time to start thinking about booking your next adventure. It might be that you want a last-minute springtime getaway, or are dreaming well in advance about next year's big holiday. Whatever is in your plans, the 7th-14th of September is the perfect time to make things official, as CLIA's week-long event sees specials, discounts and deals across all the major cruise lines in Australia.

Here are our top five tips for getting an amazing cruise deal at Cruise Sale Finder during the CLIA Cruise Week sales!

1 . Don't miss it.

We'll start with the most basic. It's easy to let something like this slip your mind, and you'll kick yourself if you wake up on the 15th of September realising you never booked your cruise. We recommend marking it in your calendar now!

It's also a good idea to head to the main page of Cruise Sale Finder and register to receive email notifications of deals and offers, if you haven't already. Just scroll down until you see the blue bar at the bottom of the page where you can enter in your email address and have the deals come right to your inbox. You can also download our free app on iOS or Android to get cruise deals on your smartphone!

2 . Be a little flexible

If you can leave a little wiggle room in your plans, you are more able to take advantage of the sales. You might find that one particular line has a bigger discount, there's more onboard credit included for a particular sailing, or a ship you hadn't considered is offering a deal you can't refuse.

Of course, if you have a plan in mind and want to stick to it, that's commendable dedication. However, don't book anything before you see what else is out there! You might be pleasantly surprised. With prices so low, Cruise Week is the best time to try out something new.

3 . Head to the event page

We'll make it easy to find all of the best and most exciting Cruise Week deals. When the week arrives, have a look at the events and get amongst the dedicated Cruise Week page to see all of the fantastic sales in one place. It's a much simpler way to compare, with all the cruises grouped together and presented in the same format.

Of course, it's not just during Cruise Week that you'll find some enticing cruise deals there. Click on "Major Sale" at the top of the homepage to access the events and you'll find all of the current offers, including a section for Last Minute Cruises.

4 . Talk to a consultant

Booking online is easy, but if you really want to get the best deal possible we recommend calling one of our cruise consultants to have a chat. We can promise that they are friendly and helpful, and never bite. They are also experts in the cruise industry and familiar with the ins and outs of the various cruise lines, so can help you to navigate the waters and pick out the very best option.

Cruise Sale Finder has a freephone number for within Australia - 1300 44 00 26 - so you won't even have to pay for the call. There's also one for New Zealand: 0800 12 21 29.

5 . Go for the double

If you're a regular cruiser, you might want to think about booking more than one cruise while the sales are on. It's a great opportunity to do so, and worth it if you're one of those lucky ones who manage to cast off from the dock several times each year. With such a range of lines and itineraries on offer, you could plan a few different holidays at once.

It's also a good time to think about a group cruise or family holiday. Low prices are just one more thing that might help you to convince your loved ones to set sail with you, and the many options mean you can find something to suit everyone.

Here's to great deals and a fabulous CLIA Cruise Week! Thanks to this amazing sale, you could hop on a cheap cruise, opt for a short break cruise or indulge yourself with a luxury cruise. The choice is yours!

I have enjoyed visiting as much of the world as possible over the years. Europe and the Mediterranean are personal favourites, but there is so much to see very close to our little Australasian corner of the globe- one of my top travel experiences was snorkeling with tropical fish and turtles in New Caledonia! Cruising is a fantastic way to see it all, and we hope to make booking a cruise easier for both first-timers and old salts. From ship tips to destination news and views, we will keep you up-to-date. Happy cruising!
