Do you want to cruise the world for free and get paid for it? It sounds like an impossibly good opportunity but for talented Australians who can make their way to Sydney or Brisbane, that dream may be within reach. Carnival Cruise Line is on the hunt for Aussie entertainers, with global talent head-hunters arriving in Sydney and Brisbane to scout out singers, dancers, and technicians.
Those who are successful will be joining the 135 Australian entertainers who are already part of the worldwide Carnival family. Chantelle Mullin, a Sydney born dancer who dreamed of being a performer since age 3, is one of those Aussie entertainers - and she’s sailed with Carnival for the last 10 years.
“My job is in a word, incredible! I am doing what I love whilst travelling the world and meeting new people,” said Chantelle. “My life has been enriched by the experience and being part of the Carnival family, so I would definitely encourage Aussie performers to audition in Sydney or Brisbane.”
Having performed on 12 Carnival ships, Chantelle said that the biggest difference between working on a ship compared to land is the versatility. Having the chance to perform at least two shows per night, five nights a week, with all sorts of different styles thrown into the mix, has really made her grow as a performer.
Of course, one of the biggest bonuses for anyone who successfully joins the Carnival Cruises team of entertainers is getting to see all kinds of incredible locations around the world, without ever having to book an airline ticket or pay for a cruise yourself. From the majestic glaciers of Alaska to the sun drenched islands of the Caribbean, you could find yourself swept away to the far corners of the earth with Carnival Cruise Line.
Carnival Cruise Line Casting and Booking Manager, John Guglielmetti, said he had great faith in Australia’s talent. “At Carnival Cruise Line we absolutely love hiring Australian talent. We know that Aussies are not only talented and hardworking, they also love to have fun, which is the perfect combination of attributes for anyone working onboard our ships.”
Carnival’s talent scouts will be in Sydney on Monday November 13th and Wednesday November 15th, and in Brisbane on Friday November 17th. To find out more details about how you could see the world from the deck of a Carnival cruise ship, check out the audition information here.
