Carnival releases itineraries for 2018

Carnival Cruise Line has recently released its program of new itineraries for cruises Down Under, and there are some great plans in there to continue offering Australian cruisers the fun and exuberant Carnival experience. After news that the Carnival Spirit will stay in the country rather than relocate to China for the winter, it's great to see exactly what is in store for those who love the Fun Ships.

Carnival cruises from Melbourne (and Singapore!)

Until now, the vast majority of Carnival cruises out of Australia have departed Sydney, the major cruising hub. However in 2018, the Carnival Legend will sail from Melbourne. Already scheduled for seven cruises from the southern city in the early part of the year, she is now planning to return in November for an extended summer season spent both there and in Sydney.

The Carnival Spirit, meanwhile, will continue to sail out of Australia's biggest cruising hub - Sydney has been her home for quite a few years now! Along with ever-popular itineraries to the South Pacific islands and short breaks to domestic destinations like Moreton Island, she will depart on her fifth Melbourne Cup cruise in early November 2018. An exciting feature of her 2018 program is two one-way voyages between Sydney and Singapore, where she is booked in for a drydock refurbishment in May 2018. These cruises will includes stops in exotic Thailand and Indonesia.

Fun Ships for Aussies

The duo of Carnival ships which frequent Australian waters are known for great entertainment, fun bars, casual dining options and general frivolity - perfect for families, couples, friends and anyone who wants to get onboard and have a good time. The Green Thunder waterslide, steepest and fastest at sea, has been a hit on both ships, and the Fun Ship 2.0 upgrades to the Carnival Spirit, including some wonderful poolside burgers and tacos, have also been met with great enthusiasm.

Carnival Cruise Line Vice President Australia and New Zealand, Jennifer Vandekreeke, says of the line's plans for 2018, "our new program is packed with options – whether you want to spend a weekend at sea or set sail for a longer journey exploring new countries, Carnival has you covered.  And no matter where you cruise, you'll enjoy a holiday filled with plenty of fun and great memories."

Keen on a Carnival cruise deal? There are plenty on offer - and you can even start planning for 2018!

I have enjoyed visiting as much of the world as possible over the years. Europe and the Mediterranean are personal favourites, but there is so much to see very close to our little Australasian corner of the globe- one of my top travel experiences was snorkeling with tropical fish and turtles in New Caledonia! Cruising is a fantastic way to see it all, and we hope to make booking a cruise easier for both first-timers and old salts. From ship tips to destination news and views, we will keep you up-to-date. Happy cruising!
