Hawaii has always been a popular holiday destination, however, it has experienced a slight decline in cruising numbers in recent years. But these ocean voyages still give the economy a significant boost - cruise visitors spent $391 million in 2014. Up to 75% of Hawaiian cruisers are from the US and Canada, with 40% being first-time visitors to the islands. Many visit more than one island and stay before and after their cruise begins.
