Launched in 2010, the Seabourn Sojourn
is a small, luxury cruise ship that has an atmosphere not dissimilar to a boutique, upmarket hotel. She set out on her maiden voyage from River Thames in London
and was christened by Twiggy, the iconic English actress and fashionista. She is nearly identical to her sister ships, the Seabourn Odyssey
and the Seabourn Quest
, from the Seabourn Cruise Line
The Seabourn Sojourn specs
A small, intimate ship, the Seabourn Sojourn weighs 32,000 tonnes, measures 650 feet in length and spans 8 passenger decks. She has the capacity for 450 guests and 330 crew members. Her cruise speed is 19 knots.
Inside the Seabourn Sojourn
The Seabourn Sojourn is luxurious and upmarket without being stuffy or pretentious. The interior decor is contemporary and tasteful, while the atmosphere is charming and warm. In place of an atrium, the Seabourn Sojourn has a 'Living Room' - a spacious reception area with plush lounge chairs, sofas and cocktail tables. This is the social heart of the ship, and also the place to go if you require assistance from the helpful crew members. Experienced 'Service Specialists' are on-hand to help you make the most of your time on board, assisting with everything from shore excursion bookings to recommending dining venues.
Seabourn Sojourn itineraries and shore excursions
The Seabourn Sojourn has a busy annual schedule, with sailings to the Europe
, India and beyond. The shore excursions available will therefore depend on your chosen destination. You can expect a range of activities to suit all interests and fitness levels. Some examples include a bike ride to Pisa, a private tour of Monte Carlo
and a Gaudi architecture experience in Barcelona
There is no such thing as a small, modest room on board the Seabourn Sojourn; only suites are available, with the smallest starting at a spacious 300 square feet. There are a range of sizes across the spectrum, going right up to 1,182 square foot Wintergarden suites. All rooms are on the outside of the ship and offer beautiful views of the ocean.
The accommodation is generous and comfortable, with walk-in closets, marble bathrooms and well-stocked mini fridges. Other nice touches include Molton Brown toiletries, fresh fruit and nightly turndown chocolates.

The Seabourn Sojourn by day
While some cruise ships focus on action and adventure, the Seabourn Sojourn is ideal for those seeking luxury, pampering and ultimate relaxation. The Spa at Seabourn is one of the largest at sea, with facilities spanning 11,400 square feet over two decks. Here you will find treatment rooms, as well as spacious indoor and outdoor relaxation areas, private cabanas, a whirlpool spa, a hydropool, a sauna, several steam rooms and a beauty salon. The spa is also home to a gym for those looking to stay fit while at sea.
If you can drag yourself away from this luxurious space, you will probably be drawn to the pool area or one of the many outdoor decks. There's nothing more relaxing than spending a day reading on a comfortable lounger, with the occasional trip to the outdoor Patio Grill.
Organised activities are also available, such as trivia games, bridge, golf putting and shuffleboard. The enrichment programme is small yet informative, with dance classes, cooking demonstrations and port lectures available.
The Seabourn Sojourn by night
As the sun sets, the atmosphere on board transforms from 'fun in the sun' to 'elegant and charming'. Guests swap summer clothes for cocktail dresses and suits, and enjoy socialising in one of the many bars and lounges.
The Grand Salon is the main hub for live entertainment, with Broadway-style shows as well as performances by comedians, magicians and musicians. The Observation Bar features a live pianist most evenings and is a popular place to enjoy a nightcap. Those who want to dance the night away will likely be found in The Club, where a DJ plays popular dance tunes until the early hours of the morning.
The Casino is located on Deck 5 and features several slot machines, as well as tables for blackjack, roulette and poker.
The Seabourn Sojourn for families
Families are more than welcome on board the Seabourn Sojourn, but they may have to make their own fun. Youth staff are hired during peak seasons, such as school holidays, but in off-peak times there are no organised activities. That said, there are several areas on board that are family-friendly, such as the pool - always a hit. The spacious accommodation also means there is plenty of room for families to play board games and enjoy each other's company in the privacy of their own rooms. There are 18 interconnecting suites, ideal for large families, and many rooms allow for a third bed.
Although there are no designated youth areas or programmes, staff are attentive towards families and will do their best to ensure your stay on board the Seabourn Sojourn
