Absolutely nothing to complain about when you cruise with this Cruise Line (Royal Caribbean) The staff are excellent in every way and cannot do enough for you. If I had to pick on anything it would be that I personally think there are too many seminars now and not enough daily activities. (e.g on
the last day of our cruise a lot of activities overlapped and you couldn't attend them all .Too much left till the last day) BUT overall I will always stay loyal to the RCI and keep coming back. Hats off to all the staff aboard. Job well done.
Beautiful ship, great food but over run by teenagers even in the adults only solarium, there was insufficient security to uphold the behaviour on the ship.
Needs more on board activities during sea days.
Very disappointed overall.
Cruising is amazing value..cabin staff are always helpful..all the crew are wonderful people... had a wonderful time on all three cruises I've been on from 3 different cruise lines . . Would highly recommend this for a holiday..it's good for families too..we have 3 younger ones which all had a
great time.. couldnt keep one away from kids club..absolutely loved it..another perk on cruise ships..there's so much to choose from..kids weren't bored or hungry for that matter...they can't wait to go on the next one..neither can we...interconnecting cabins are a wonderful idea for larger groups too... royal Caribbean has family rooms that hold up to 6 people..not many have these family rooms ...its a shame theres not more and other ships dont have them either as they are a great idea..and lets face it families aren't made of four these days..
If people have never been on a cruise they need to do it.. i 100% recommend it ..I cant speak highly enough of this experience ..and if you're scared of going in a little boat don't worry so am i but these boats are massive sometimes you forget you're actually on a cruise ship...but just incase don't forget the sickness tablets...better to take some just incase...one last word..just pack un pack and enjoy..you'll have a blast
Our first cruise with Royal Caribbean after travelling on 9 previous cruises. We had the most wonderful time, the best New Year ever.
We were a little hesitant at first as we had to pay in US dollars but the standard more than made up for it..
Our cruise director Joff was so entertaining which made the whole NYE experience even more fun. Such a great personality. Our captain also made the effort to entertain us at charades which was a first for us, only ever seeing a captain previously at the Captains welcome and farewell nights.
Our table waiter Sanches was the best we have ever had....guilty of feeding us too much food, but the loveliest guy and could not look after us any better. He called us his family every night which made us feel very special.
The standard of the entertainment in the theatre every night was also top quality, both the entertainment that had been booked for the cruise and also the cruise staff themselves. Very high standard. Being a dancer myself I can be critical sometimes but had no reason to be. Excellent.
The whole experience was a New Year never to be forgotten, that is why we have booked again for 2017.
Had a fantastic time, except no where near enough sea day activities if weather wasn't fine (which it wasn't-- we were in Bass Strait !!). Cinema is way too smal, move bingo to Colony Club and show movie in Theatre would be one easy solution.
We decided on a Christmas and New Year cruise to have a year off from travelling to visit family for the holidays. The cruise exceeded our expectations in every way. The ship was beautifully decorated for Christmas and there were special Christmas and New Years events, including a visit from Santa!
We were very impressed with the quality and variety of food in the main dining room, and the midnight dessert buffet one night was a highlight.
Being our first time we were worried about getting bored towards the end of the 12 nights, but this was absolutely not the case. There were plenty of activities to keep busy, particularly on the sea days. The evening entertainment was another highlight, particularly the concerts featuring the Radiance of the Seas Singers and Dancers, who were all very talented performers. There were also featured performers including a magician and a hypnotist who were both very entertaining.
The only negative of the whole trip was visiting Noumea on New Years Day when almost everything was closed due to the public holiday. We had a great time in Vanuatu, although be aware that many of the shore excursions can be booked on land significantly cheaper. We both got the 'cruise bug' and we will definitely be cruising again in the future.
Christmas and New Year on Radiance of the Seas was the best family holiday we've had. Great weather and crew made it all the more enjoyable. Thoroughly recommend Royal Carribean.
I have been on 4 Royal Caribbean cruise ships so far, I have always found the staff to be friendly and always happy, I love the towel animals that are left on the bed at night.
The drink packages that you are able to purchase onboard are a must and great value for money, the main dining rooms have always had yummy food and I couldn't fault it in any way, again the staff are so friendly and will go out of their way to make you happy.
Our Room attendants have always been exceptional with the service they give you and go far and beyond to make your cruise as comfortable as they possibly can, no complaints there.
On board the ships there has always been plenty to do of a day, my hubby and I like that you can enjoy watching a movie which can be nice and relaxing I the cinemas, the casino ah yes we live to have a flutter on the table and sometimes the poker machines, especially after watching the show, it's good how they will show you how to play the different games that they have, though my favourite is the craps table now.
Up to now we hadn't done a cruise longer than 11 days and we weren't too sure how we would go with a lot of sea days but we both thoroughly enjoyed the whole cruise. Boarding in Honolulu was an absolute breeze and took a total of 15 minutes. Our cabin was mid-ship inside cabin which is always
bigger than other cruise liners we have been on. There's room for a two seater lounge and coffee table so we have somewhere comfortable to sit rather than just the bed. Talking about beds. They are always comfortable with great pillows and we both sleep really well in inside cabins and the gentle rocking of the ship.
The Radiance of the Seas is a beautiful ship and we initially worried about being onboard with over 2,000 other people but the ship is so big some days we wondered where everyone else was!
Sea Days. We love them and with this cruise we had two lots of 5 sea days in a row. So if you aren't a sea day person and yearn for lots of ports maybe you should rethink this cruise. For us, we are both happy happy little cruislings!!!! We always found enough to do and when in doubt we enjoyed drinking coffee, sipping a wine, meeting new people, walking the deck, helping out with the communal jigsaw or one of the many lectures or movies. The food. We thoroughly enjoyed every meal onboard and always come home with a few extra kilos to prove it. We also love the formal nights as it's a great opportunity to dress up and get your photo taken. Perhaps the only downside I can mention for a cruise across the Pacific Ocean is to be aware that you might experience rough seas like we did from Tahiti to New Zealand. A few people were sick but the ship was so stable I who normally get sick managed the rough weather with ease. Best to remember your sea sick pills just in case! Nearly forgot to mention the best part of this ship - the inside covered pool area which is an adult only area. When it started to get cool as we neared New Zealand and the weather turned rough, this was the best place to be. Toasty warm and asleep in my deck chair. Wonderful!!! Overall, this was truly our best cruise to date and I would definitely do this one again and again!!!
There is room on board for 2,112 guests and 894 crew members, and 12 decks to explore. The ship measures 962 feet in length and cruises at 25 knots. Overall, the design of the ship is inspired by the views, which is why you will find floor-to-ceiling windows throughout and elevators that face the sea.
Choose from one of the four categories of staterooms aboard the Radiance Of The Seas; a suite, a balcony room, an ocean view room, or an interior cabin. There are further options within each category depending on whether you need space for a whole family, are looking for the ultimate in comfort or simply want a place to rest your head at the end of an action-packed day.
For days at sea, there are endless activities to enjoy, such as the massive rock climbing wall, the basketball court, the mini-golf course, the video game arcade, the shopping area, and the large poolside movie screen.
There are three pools and three whirlpools, including the adults-only area for guaranteed tranquility. A day spa offers acupuncture and massage, a gym will help keep you fit while you're away, and the nursery, youth program and teen lounge will keep the whole family happy.
The majority of the meals aboard the ship are complimentary, served in the Main Dining Room at breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are also complimentary cafes, room service and a custom hotdog outlet.
You also have the option of ordering a la carte at a number of speciality eateries including a Chef's Table dinner, and Mexican, Italian, Brazilian, and Japanese fare.
