Our cruise from Vancouver, Canada to Seward, Alaska was fantastic and we highly recommend it. It was only 7 nights but we saw so much. The staff were helpful and friendly and the ports of call were awesome. Would do the same one again but cruising down to South America is now calling us....
getting ready for that one now!!!
Had a fantastic time, except no where near enough sea day activities if weather wasn't fine (which it wasn't-- we were in Bass Strait !!). Cinema is way too smal, move bingo to Colony Club and show movie in Theatre would be one easy solution.
We booked a last minute deal for our cruise with Royal Caribbean ! It was our first cruise !
We went for a 17 nights on board with many stops ! Include Bali, from Perth to Sydney!
+ : the food on board, thats just amazing how much we ate ! the windjammer cafe was our favorite, as its easy and quick not like a dining table where you have to order and wait for your food.
the package for the beverages is good if you love drinking we havent bough it as we only drinks a little bit ... from the first moments arriving on the ship and having to fight to get a table for lunch ! I reckon then need more staff or more space or else less cruisers...
We did bought the romantic package for our large oceanview stateroom! We had some sparkling wine and breakfast on the bed :)
Highlights included the bridge tour (great), Chops Grille (but book early as we didn't realise all the decent places book out and you are left with the 'trough' (windjammers) or dining room which is as personalised and special as you would expect for a place that does 1000 covers a night.
The TV channels were a bit boring however and if you wanted quiet time in your room, watching TV is not really an option unless you want to die of boredom. But in saying that there was so much going on in the ship why would you want to stay in your room. The only negative is the extra expenses on the ship...constantly felt like we were being ripped off paying extra 18% gratuity on services when we had already paid gratuity upfront and the upsell in the day spa was very annoying seeing as the services are so overpriced anyway! Be careful that the free talks usually lead to you feeling the need to buy something! It would be easy to blow your budget without realising..you need to monitor your spendings and what is coming our of your acc as there are hidden charges and esp with the conversion rate. $20 sounds cheap until you see its actually $26!
Overall will do it again next year with my mom and dad surprise !
We decided on a Christmas and New Year cruise to have a year off from travelling to visit family for the holidays. The cruise exceeded our expectations in every way. The ship was beautifully decorated for Christmas and there were special Christmas and New Years events, including a visit from Santa!
We were very impressed with the quality and variety of food in the main dining room, and the midnight dessert buffet one night was a highlight.
Being our first time we were worried about getting bored towards the end of the 12 nights, but this was absolutely not the case. There were plenty of activities to keep busy, particularly on the sea days. The evening entertainment was another highlight, particularly the concerts featuring the Radiance of the Seas Singers and Dancers, who were all very talented performers. There were also featured performers including a magician and a hypnotist who were both very entertaining.
The only negative of the whole trip was visiting Noumea on New Years Day when almost everything was closed due to the public holiday. We had a great time in Vanuatu, although be aware that many of the shore excursions can be booked on land significantly cheaper. We both got the 'cruise bug' and we will definitely be cruising again in the future.
Cruising is amazing value..cabin staff are always helpful..all the crew are wonderful people... had a wonderful time on all three cruises I've been on from 3 different cruise lines . . Would highly recommend this for a holiday..it's good for families too..we have 3 younger ones which all had a
great time.. couldnt keep one away from kids club..absolutely loved it..another perk on cruise ships..there's so much to choose from..kids weren't bored or hungry for that matter...they can't wait to go on the next one..neither can we...interconnecting cabins are a wonderful idea for larger groups too... royal Caribbean has family rooms that hold up to 6 people..not many have these family rooms ...its a shame theres not more and other ships dont have them either as they are a great idea..and lets face it families aren't made of four these days..
If people have never been on a cruise they need to do it.. i 100% recommend it ..I cant speak highly enough of this experience ..and if you're scared of going in a little boat don't worry so am i but these boats are massive sometimes you forget you're actually on a cruise ship...but just incase don't forget the sickness tablets...better to take some just incase...one last word..just pack un pack and enjoy..you'll have a blast
Overall experience was good. The first 6 days was rough and cool. Hubby was queezy. Windjammer looked a bit dreary and tired. The food there was quite repetitive. Dining room was much nicer and staff were more accommodating. Room attendant was awesome! Couldn't do enough for us. Thanks Riccardo.
Entertainment was quite good. Great port locations!
I have been on 4 Royal Caribbean cruise ships so far, I have always found the staff to be friendly and always happy, I love the towel animals that are left on the bed at night.
The drink packages that you are able to purchase onboard are a must and great value for money, the main dining rooms have always had yummy food and I couldn't fault it in any way, again the staff are so friendly and will go out of their way to make you happy.
Our Room attendants have always been exceptional with the service they give you and go far and beyond to make your cruise as comfortable as they possibly can, no complaints there.
On board the ships there has always been plenty to do of a day, my hubby and I like that you can enjoy watching a movie which can be nice and relaxing I the cinemas, the casino ah yes we live to have a flutter on the table and sometimes the poker machines, especially after watching the show, it's good how they will show you how to play the different games that they have, though my favourite is the craps table now.
We cruised in 2014 with a group of 10 of us. It was absolutely the most amazing experience and holiday we have ever had. Royal Caribbean was fantastic, staff were all helpful and obliging, food was the best we've ever eaten, the whole travel experience was THE BEST ðŸ‘🻠nothing was too
much trouble, the entertainment was awesome and the Theater for movies was also a good experience, the entertainment crew were heaps of fun and kept passengers on their toes with all sorts of activities on a daily basis, no need to be bored as there was always something to do if that's what you wanted or you could just chill and relax and do nothing at all except lounge around the pool or sit and indulge in any of the wonderful bars with the day's cocktail special or drink of your choice. Cruising with Royal Carribean will certainly be my choice of cruise company for our next cruise and if you had children there was an abundance of activities for the young ones on board and well taken care of by crew staff on a daily basis. Nightlife after dinner was excellent, specialty restaurants amazing as well. FANTASTIC
There is room on board for 2,112 guests and 894 crew members, and 12 decks to explore. The ship measures 962 feet in length and cruises at 25 knots. Overall, the design of the ship is inspired by the views, which is why you will find floor-to-ceiling windows throughout and elevators that face the sea.
Choose from one of the four categories of staterooms aboard the Radiance Of The Seas; a suite, a balcony room, an ocean view room, or an interior cabin. There are further options within each category depending on whether you need space for a whole family, are looking for the ultimate in comfort or simply want a place to rest your head at the end of an action-packed day.
For days at sea, there are endless activities to enjoy, such as the massive rock climbing wall, the basketball court, the mini-golf course, the video game arcade, the shopping area, and the large poolside movie screen.
There are three pools and three whirlpools, including the adults-only area for guaranteed tranquility. A day spa offers acupuncture and massage, a gym will help keep you fit while you're away, and the nursery, youth program and teen lounge will keep the whole family happy.
The majority of the meals aboard the ship are complimentary, served in the Main Dining Room at breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are also complimentary cafes, room service and a custom hotdog outlet.
You also have the option of ordering a la carte at a number of speciality eateries including a Chef's Table dinner, and Mexican, Italian, Brazilian, and Japanese fare.
