Ovation of the Seas Overview

The Ovation of the Seas cruise ship takes holidays at sea to a whole new level. Kitted out with the latest technology and featuring entertainment venues that seriously rival their land-based counterparts, this vessel pushes the boundaries in all the right ways.

Think of her as a resort upon the ocean; there are so many amazing activities on board, with something to suit everyone, from thrill-seekers to wellness warriors. A holiday on board the Ovation of the Seas is a truly remarkable experience.

Ovation of the Seas specs
Weighing in at 167,800 tonnes and spanning across 16 decks, the Ovation of the Seas is Royal Caribbean's largest cruise yet. She measures 1,142 feet in length, 135 feet in width and has a maximum capacity of 4,905 passengers.

Inside Ovation of the Seas
The Ovation of the Seas shares many similarities with her sister ships, Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas, all of which have innovative new architectural features such as the 'North Star', a glass capsule where guests can gently ascend 330 feet above sea level and enjoy 360 degree views of the ocean.

The interior decor throughout the ship is modern and tasteful. In the cabins and suites, you'll find the blue and white colour scheme is nicely complemented by soft lighting, plush furniture, wooden finishings and beautiful indoor plants. The public spaces spare no details, with every bar, restaurant and activity room designed to perfection.

Ovation of the Seas restaurants and bars
As you would expect from a vessel with close to 5,000 passengers on board during peak times, the Ovation of the Seas offers an outstanding range of dining options. From traditional British pub fare to fresh Japanese delicacies to comforting American classics, there's an eatery to suit everyone's palate.

Of particular note is Royal Caribbean's partnership with celebrity chef Jamie Oliver. The hugely popular 'Jamie's Italian' restaurant is one the ship's most in-demand Specialty eateries. Jamie's fresh, modern Italian menu is an absolute delight.

The cruise ship has an equally impressive selection of lounges and bars, from the warm and welcoming Michael's Genuine Pub to the glitzy Diamond Lounge. In the Bionic Bar guests will find something a little different - order your cocktail on a tablet and it will then be delivered to you by robotic arms!

Things to do on the Ovation of the Seas
The Ovation of the Seas, and her sister vessels Quantum and Anthem, have taken cruise entertainment to the next level - and beyond. Where else at sea can you experience the feeling of flying in an air machine? Or ascend 300 feet above sea level in a jewel-shaped capsule? Be prepared to be dazzled by the outstanding array of entertainment facilities available.

The whole family will have a blast at the Seaplex entertainment park, the largest indoor sports complex at sea. Here you can ride bumper cars, go roller blading, play basketball, attend circus school and so much more. Other highlights on board include the FlowRider, a surf simulator pool, and the Two70° entertainment venue, which makes the most of Vistarama technology to bring to you crisp, high definition entertainment from 18 projectors.

Ovation of the Seas itineraries and shore excursions
A truly global vessel, the Ovation of the Seas splits her time between ports in Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. The shore excursions available therefore depend on the destination, but you can expect an array of choices, from a trip to Shuri Castle in Okinawa, Japan to swimming with dolphins in New Zealand's Bay of Plenty.

I have enjoyed visiting as much of the world as possible over the years. Europe and the Mediterranean are personal favourites, but there is so much to see very close to our little Australasian corner of the globe- one of my top travel experiences was snorkeling with tropical fish and turtles in New Caledonia! Cruising is a fantastic way to see it all, and we hope to make booking a cruise easier for both first-timers and old salts. From ship tips to destination news and views, we will keep you up-to-date. Happy cruising!
