Grand Princess Overview

Launched in 1998, the Grand Princess is a Grand Class cruise ship in the Princess fleet. This beautiful vessel spent some time in the dry dock in 2011, where it received a major upgrade, including the addition of the Piazza and several new bars and restaurants. She shares many similarities with her sister ships, Star Princess and Golden Princess.

Specs: Grand Princess at a glance

The Grand Princess weighs 109,000 tonnes, measures 951 feet in length and spans 17 decks. She can accommodate 3,100 passengers and 1,100 crew. Her cruise speed is 22.5 knots.

Accommodation: Grand Princess rooms and suites

There are a range of cabin sizes and categories to choose from, many of which have balconies. Staterooms start at 160 square feet (interiors) and go up to 257 square feet (balconies), while suites range from 323 square feet to 790 square feet. All rooms are equipped with basics such as a television, mini-fridge and toiletries. Chocolates are left after the nightly turndown service - a nice touch. Suite guests enjoy separate living and sleeping areas, generous bathtubs and not one, but two flatscreen televisions.

I have enjoyed visiting as much of the world as possible over the years. Europe and the Mediterranean are personal favourites, but there is so much to see very close to our little Australasian corner of the globe- one of my top travel experiences was snorkeling with tropical fish and turtles in New Caledonia! Cruising is a fantastic way to see it all, and we hope to make booking a cruise easier for both first-timers and old salts. From ship tips to destination news and views, we will keep you up-to-date. Happy cruising!
