Things to remember: On board the MSC Splendida
Just a handful of things to remember when getting ready to cruise aboard the MSC Splendida:
  • When it comes to eveningwear, there are three different categories: formal, informal and casual. Casual means jeans and a sports shirt for guys and women are fine with skirts, slacks, blouses or sweaters. Informal is a step up, with cocktail dresses de rigeur for the ladies and a jacket and tie for men. On formal nights it's time to break out the tux or evening dress. You'll be informed ahead of time what standard of dress your evening will require.
  • MSC is a popular cruise line with families, offering children's programs divided into a range of age groups between 3 and 18. Kids even have their own supervised pool, while teenagers enjoy their very own waterslide, the Toboga, on Deck 15.
  • While all staff members can speak English, the MSC Splendida is certainly a ship with a strong international flavour. That means that many of your fellow passengers may not speak your language, and announcements are made in a handful of different languages. This certainly isn't a negative thing though and merely adds to the unique MSC flavour of this ship.
  • A gratuity of 7 Euros per day will be automatically added each day which can be paid via your onboard account. The official currency of the MSC Splendida is the Euro.

I have enjoyed visiting as much of the world as possible over the years. Europe and the Mediterranean are personal favourites, but there is so much to see very close to our little Australasian corner of the globe- one of my top travel experiences was snorkeling with tropical fish and turtles in New Caledonia! Cruising is a fantastic way to see it all, and we hope to make booking a cruise easier for both first-timers and old salts. From ship tips to destination news and views, we will keep you up-to-date. Happy cruising!
