Santo, Vanuatu
Espiritu-Santo is the largest island of Vanuatu. It is considered to be the most beautiful island in the South Pacific, boasting coconut fringed beaches covered with powdery white sand, amazing blue water swimming holes, majestic mountains and magnificent tropical jungle. Espiritu Santo offers visitors a variety of experiences including the adventure of Millennium Caves, exploring the famous Blue Holes, Champagne Beach, the cultural experiences of Vil Vil Village to the gourmet delights of Oyster Island. Espiritu Santo offers visitors a variety of experiences including the adventure of Millennium Caves, exploring the famous Blue Holes, Champagne Beach, the cultural experiences of Vil Vil Village to the gourmet delights of Oyster Island. The island is also home of the world's best dive wreck, the SS President Coolidge, a 200 meter luxury cruise ship that sank during WWII with 5,000 troops on board, all but 2 escaped. She lies intact on her side and is accessible throughout.

Vila, Vanuatu
Port Vila is the capital and largest city of Vanuatu, situated on the south coast of the island of Efate. The town is located around a magnificient natural harbour which offers views to nearby Iririki and Ifira islands. It is the only town on Efate and is regarded as Vanuatu’s international gateway and its main economic and commercial centre. Port Vila is a clean and attractive city with friendly locals. The waterfront and hillside area offer some great restaurants with a wide variety of cuisines. There are plenty of shops, cafes, markets, and sightseeing tours to take. Tours to Mele Village, Cascades Waterfall and the Mele Botanical Gardens and Cultural Centre are very popular.

Mystery Isld, Vanuatu
This small, uninhabited island is one of the most southern of the Vanuatu group. Mystery Island was used as a World War II landing strip for the allied forces. There is now absolutely no tourism development except for the occasional visit by a cruise ship. There are no roads, no shops and no stress! The locals from a nearby island will come to sell their few shells and goods and your day may be spent relaxing on the sand while their ëstring bandí plays songs of welcome. The surrounding reefs offer ideal opportunities for experienced snorkellers.

Isle Of Pines, New Caledonia
The Isle of Pines is part of New Caledonia and is situated 50km south east of the mainland and 80 km’s south-east of the capital Noumea. The island is characterized by tall narrow pine trees, perfect white sandy beaches and turquoise lagoons. This island was once a convict settlement for political prisoners from Paris and later became an ordinary prison. The islands landscape consists of spectacular natural colours of white sand, green, blue water and lush green vegetation. The island is also beautiful under water as there are spectacular colourful corals and fish. Vao on the islands southern most tip is the only real village. The islands sole church dominates the village centre.

Noumea, New Caledonia
Nouméa is the capital city of the French territory of New Caledonia. It is situated on a peninsula in the south of New Caledonia's main island, Grande Terre. It is one of the most westernized cities in the Pacific islands, and while the city itself is not attractive, there are some beautiful beaches on its outskirts. Attractions in Nouméa include a stroll along the Place des Cocotiers, the local produce market and the Tjibaou Cultural Centre, located 20mins from the city. The focal point of the city is Coconut Park with its attractive colonial houses and beautiful hibiscus and bougainvilleas. The marina is worth a visit and there are attractive beaches at Anse Vata, Baie des Citrons and at Pointe Magnin.

Carnival Spirit Overview

With regular sailings to warm climates such as New Caledonia, Fiji and Vanuatu, the Carnival Spirit cruise ship has that summer holiday feeling all year round. There's three pools, an Aqua Park, a private adults-only spa area and plenty of bars to enjoy a relaxing cocktail.

The Sydney-based ship is a relatively recent addition to the Australian seas. The Carnival Spirit arrived in Australia in 2012 after undergoing an extensive $7 million refurbishment, which included the addition of several new bars and restaurants and the construction of a 180-foot-long waterslide called 'Green Thunder' (this is definitely not just for the kids!).

Carnival Spirit specs
At three footy fields long and 12 decks tall, Carnival Spirit is spacious and comfortable, yet also feels intimate and welcoming - you'll feel at home in no time.

Inside Carnival Spirit
The Carnival Spirit interiors are a feast for the senses. One moment you are in France, the next you are in Egypt. As you move through the ship you will become aware that every room has its own look and feel. The show lounge is adorned with Egyptian murals, while the Chippendale Library is reminiscent of a large English country house. Even the spa has its own theme, with Grecian murals and columns.

The ship's interior design creates an exuberant, playful atmosphere, allowing you to indulge your imagination and escape your everyday life. Not to mention the décor makes for great conversation with fellow cruisers.

Carnival Spirit bars and restaurants
If Carnival Spirit's interior takes you on a trip around the world, just wait until you taste some of the delicious food available. In keeping with the international theme, La Playa Grille Lido Restaurant offers a 'Taste of the Nations' option, serving a different cuisine for lunch every day.
La Playa Grille Lido Restaurant is also a great spot for a casual buffet breakfast. Here you'll find most morning meals, from pastries to pancakes and everything in between.
Come dinner time, you'll want to head to the Empire Restaurant, Carnival Spirit's 1300-seat formal dining space. This restaurant serves a wide range of entrees, mains and desserts, including all of your favourite modern classics.

Other food options include a 24-hour pizzeria, Fountains Café and BlueIguana Mexicana, Guys Burger Joint by the pool. Those hankering for a taste of Australia will not be disappointed. The Carnival Spirit bars stock a selection of Australian beers, and there are several trained baristas on board to perfect your favourite caffeinated beverage.

Guests may want to note that all tips are pre-included in the Carnival Spirit fare prices, so no need to worry about calculating that extra 15 per cent.

Activities and entertainment
From Australia's largest Aqua Park at sea, to the luxurious Spa Carnival day spa, there are plenty of activities to suit everyone on board. Sporty types will appreciate the jogging tracks, basketball court and fully-equipped gym, while those looking to relax and unwind will find solace by the pool, at the library or in the adults-only Serenity Deck Area. There are also plenty of indoor activities like the larger the life Hasbro Game Shows from Connect 4, Trivial Pursuits, Cleudo and Simon Flash .

Come nightfall the Carnival Spirit truly comes alive, with more than 6 bars to choose from and an array of social opportunities. Be sure to pack some black-tie outfits for the 'Cruise Elegant' nights, where guests are invited to don their very best formal wear.

Carnival Spirit itineraries and shore excursions
The Carnival Spirit's schedule usually revolves around sailings to New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Fiji. Make the most of the shore excursions and explore these beautiful islands.

All three destinations are wonderful for swimming and snorkelling, as well as nature walks and cultural activities. Some popular day excursions include a trip to Duck Island in Noumea and the Cascades Tour in Vanuatu.

Cabins on board the Carnival Spirit cruise ship

Approximately 80 per cent of the Carnival Spirit rooms are outside and a further 80 per cent of these have balconies or outdoor seating areas, so you've come to the right place if you want an ocean view. Cabin sizes range from 17.2 to 20.4 square metres.

All staterooms are equipped with basic amenities such as hair dryers, bedside lamps and vanity areas. They all have Australian power points and ample storage space. Most rooms cater for twin-shares or couples, but there are also 42 interconnecting rooms for large groups or families.

Those looking for a touch more space might be more suited to a Carnival Spirit suite; these are 25 square metres with attached 6 square metre balconies. An even grander option is a Penthouse Suite, which measures 345 square feet. All suites have separate living areas, a bathtub and extra large balconies.

If you've seen any Carnival Spirit photos featuring men with particularly hairy chests, don't be alarmed, it's likely they were proudly entering the 'Men's Hairy Chest Contest', a regular competition that always draws a good crowd.

Carnival Spirit pools, gyms and more
With three pools on board, as well as the Carnival WaterWorks Aqua Park, there is no shortage of places to make a splash. There are also several hot tubs throughout the ship.

The gym offers spectacular ocean views from every piece of equipment, thanks to its tiered design. Here you should find all the equipment you need for a good workout, such as treadmills, rowing machines and cross trainers. There are also free fitness classes in the aerobics room and two jogging tracks.

There are 12 lounges throughout the ship, catering for all tastes from jazz to country to modern dance.  And make sure to check out the RedFrog Pub, featuring Carnivals own  Thirsty Frog summer Ale.

The Atrium Bar is the perfect place to grab an aperitif before dinner, while the Shanghai Bar is where to go if you enjoy piano singalongs. Karaoke enthusiasts will love Club Cool and sports fans will feel right at home in the Champions' Sports Bar, which screens most major matches. If you're looking to be entertained, head to the Pharaoh's Palace, where you might catch a comedian or cover band, depending on the Carnival Spirit schedule.

There is also a Casino onboard, with tables available for blackjack, poker, roulette, as well as more than 200 slot machines.

Carnival Spirit for families
Your children will be begging to go on another cruise after a holiday on board the Carnival Spirit. There are free children's programmes catering to five different age groups.

Little ones will be kept entertained with activities such as face-painting and magic shows, while older children can choose from a range of organised games or make a splash at the Aqua Park.
Teenagers will likely be found hanging out in the teen lounge or at Club 02, which serves mocktails and plays the latest movies.

While there are no in-cabin babysitting services available, there are several group childcare options, such as the 'Night Owls' slumber party.

Guy's Burger Joint - Carnival Cruises has teamed up with the best-selling American author, restaurateur and Food Network personality Guy Fieri, to bring all the authentic appeal of a roadside burger shack to Guy’s Burger Joint, the cool poolside spot for hot burgers and hand-cut fries. Try a fresh-off-the-grill burger Guy’s way, or take it off-road to the toppings bar and truly make it your own.

BlueIguana Cantina - Nobody knows Mexican dining like a blue iguana. Well, blue iguana on Carnival Spirit at least. That’s why it should come as no surprise that the BlueIguana Cantina features freshly made tacos and burritos stuffed specially for you. Put the homemade tortillas and salsa into the mix, and you have your own casual dining experience that will make you wanna say “mmmm” (which is actually Iguanese for “more, please”).

Fat Jimmy's C-Side BBQ - Your desire for a great barbie will be 100% satisfied when you cruise with Carnival Spirit. Fat Jimmy simmers sauces and serves up backyard-and-beach-cookout fare like Italian sausage, barbecue chicken breast, and of course the classic pulled-pork sandwiches. He hasn’t forgotten the details either, the sides that get your barbeque juices flowing: roasted pumpkin, coleslaw, and potato salad, to name a few. Bring everyone, because like any great family gathering, the food’s awesome, free… and there’s plenty of it. Located on Sun Deck 10.

Good Eats - When it comes to have a good dinner, the name says it all. Good Eats is just the spot to enjoy a casual self-serve dinner on Carnival Spirit. Enjoy strip steak, pork chops served with rice or roasted potatoes, a carving station and so much more. There's something different on the menu every night, so you can come back and try something new each night of your cruise.

Off The Grill - Join masters of the grill as they practice their craft right in front of you, serving up outdoor favourites like hamburgers, hot dogs and grilled chicken. Smother them with sautéed onions and mushrooms, or go traditional with some tomato sauce and mustard. Either way, Off the Grill is the perfect place to enjoy these classics by the pool.

The Taste Bar - A voyage to new destinations is always the perfect time to try new things… and The Taste Bar is the perfect place. Drop by for a taste of the flavours awaiting you at dining venues across the Carnival fleet. Pick up a complimentary appetiser before dinner for a taste of something different.

Selections of teas are also available; savour the aroma and have a delicious homemade pastry on the side or, for an even sweeter option, stop by for a milkshake, slice of cake or biscuit.

Freshie's Corner - Freshies Corner gives you a taste of the ocean with a range of tasty morsels and light meals including pots of fresh prawns or mussels, classic fish n’ chips, kumera fries, freshly grilled chicken focaccias, and the new bespoke Spirit Burger. Artists Lobby On Carnival Spirit

Art Auctions

If a room full of overly serious old men paying top-dollar for priceless antique works of art is your imagination of an “art auction”, then think again! Unlike a stodgy auction house, your Carnival cruise features a series of auction events designed to turn fine art into fine fun. From the rapid-fire ‘Lightning’ action to the cheap thrills of the ‘under $500’ event, there are plenty of chances to try your hand at bringing home something great and have a blast doing it. Unlike land auctions, Carnival Cruises even hold fun interactive events like the “Guess the Price” competition. That said, the onboard auctions aren’t completely without fancy trimmings — after all, what’s an auction without free-flowing champagne?

Art Exhibitions

If you are interested in art and would like to add cultrual component to your cruise, you will always be satisfied on Carnival Spirit with a series of events celebrating some exceptional works. Take part in the art-themed activities onboard or check out showcases from different artists. You can't get any closer to art like this.

If we are able to transfer you at the lower promotional fare a fee of $100 will be applied to your booking. Once final payment has been made for your cruise we are unable to lower the fare.

If you choose to transfer your cruise deposit to an alternative cruise departure this will also incur a fee of $100.

Once a deposit is made towards your cruise holiday it is deemed that you have accepted our terms and conditions, so are subject to any cancellation fees. Bookings cancelled after the deposit is paid, will incur a cancellation fee of $200 per cabin plus any additional cancellation fees set out by the cruise line. There are no cool down periods. Please see the Cruise Company's terms and conditions for cancellation and amendment policy.

Due to the issuing of refunds via Cheque by the cruiselines, refunds can take 4-6 weeks to reach us should you be entitled to any refund.

Payments towards your cruise holiday made by credit cards are subject to a transaction fee of 1.2% for Visa and Mastercard payments and 0.5% for Debit Cards. We also accept PayPal with a 1% transaction fee and AMEX which incur a 3.2% credit card fee. Payments made by bank deposit do not incur any transaction fees nor do payments made using the BPAY payment system. Please be aware payments made via bank deposit or BPAY within 24 hours of your booking expiring will require a legitimate receipt/screen shot of payment emailed through.

Onboard Credits

On selected departures we will offer you onboard credits & these may not be combinable with all cabin categories and promotions. We will send you through a confirmation which will confirm if the onboard credit is available against your booking. Making changes to your reservation could result in any onboard credits being removed. Once you have embarked the ship, the onboard credit will be applied to your onboard account to use towards any onboard purchases. Any unused portion of the Onboard Credit will expire at midnight on the last night of your cruise and is not redeemable for cash at any time.

'Guarantee' (GTY) Bookings

From time to time, we may offer you the option of making what we call a 'Guarantee (GTY) booking. This means you may book a stateroom of a guaranteed category type (Inside, Outside, Balcony) on your chosen ship and cruise. However, the exact grade, number and location of the stateroom on the ship will be allocated at the cruise lines discretion and at any time until checking in at the Port. Once your GTY stateroom has been allocated to you, we are unable to accept any changes requested by you. The benefits of a GTY stateroom are that after your booking has been confirmed, the cruise line may (at their discretion) upgrade your stateroom to a higher classed category to that originally booked at no extra charge to you. In any event, you are 'guaranteed' the minimum category you decide to book at the time of the cruise including obstructed view cabins.
If travelling with Family and Friends where you require cabins to be near one another we strongly recommend for you not to book on a Guarantee.
We cannot guarantee your cabins will be assigned near one another, on the same deck, same side or forward/aft on the ship nor accept any requests.

Complimentary Upgrades

Depending on any last minute availability the cruise lines will automatically upgrade cabins to higher categories. The upgrades can place you towards the front of the ship, midships or at the back of the ship and not necessarily on a higher deck level (i.e.: Insides Deck 10 may be upgraded to Ocean view Deck 5). As the cruise lines cannot upgrade every booking, you should book a category in which you are happy to sail. Once the upgrade has been assigned, should you dislike the cabin location we are unable to accept any changes or requests and cannot be reversed.
If travelling with family and friends where you require cabins to be near one another we strongly recommend for you to decline the upgrades. The cruise line do not guarantee all of the cabins will be upgraded, or that they will be upgraded near one another.

Future Cruise Credits

While we are happy to apply your Future Cruise Credits from the cruiselines to your booking with us, this may affect your online discounted pricing. We will still do our best to provide competitive pricing based on the discount we can offer on the new cruise fare once the future cruise credits have been applied to your booking. Please note if Future Cruise Credits are applied after your deposit has been paid may affect your final balance.

Passport & Visa Requirements.

For all international cruises all passengers will require to be in possession of a valid passport. The passport must have 6 months validity from the cruise return date.
Visa's may also be required and at the sole responsibility of the passenger. Please check with the relevant embassies or a Visa Services company for assistance.
Cruise Republic will not take any responsibility for passport or visa requirements.

Carnival Cruises - Terms and Conditions

Please note the terms and conditions listed below is a shorterned version. To view the full version (which you are bound by) please click here -

These are the terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”)under which you book your cruise holiday and travel on any Carnival Cruise Lines’ product we sell you. You are bound by these terms and conditions, so it is important you read them carefully. Carnival/Carnival Cruise Lines/We/Our/Us means Carnival plc. You are entering into this contract with Carnival plc trading as Carnival Australia , ARBN 107 998 443.

In these Terms and Conditions, words which appear in italics have the meaning set out in the Dictionary in clause 32.

Certain laws such as the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) and any applicable state based consumer legislation (from here known as ‘consumer laws’), are in place for your protection. They are designed to ensure our services are provided with due care and skill and are reasonably fit for a cruise holiday. Many consumer laws cannot legally be excluded or limited. These ‘Terms & Conditions’ do not alter any protection given by such consumer laws.

Each cabin booked represents an individual booking and can accommodate between one (1) and four (4) passengers, depending on the cabin configuration. Each booking will be allocated a unique booking number.

A booking, and payments on a booking, can only be made by a person aged 18 years or over.

Your agreement with us

When you first make a payment towards your cruise holiday, you represent that you have the authority from all passengers on your booking(s), to accept our ‘Terms & Conditions’ on their behalf. Parents/Legal guardians accept the ‘Terms & Conditions’ on behalf of their children, including those who travel in a separate cabin. Once we have received a payment on a booking, an agreement on these ‘Terms & Conditions’ becomes effective between all passengers on the booking(s) and Carnival plc.

Once you have decided on your holiday, we will need a deposit to secure your booking. If full deposit is not received within the designated period of time, your booking will be automatically cancelled. On some cruises, the payment may be required on the day of booking or within 1-5 days of making the booking, as controlled by Carnival Cruises.

All guests within a booking must travel on the same fare type. From time to time, we may release promotional fares that have different payment conditions. Please ensure you check the payment conditions at time of booking.

It is essential that you make final payment by the due date and in accordance with the type of fare you have purchased. If payment is not received by the due date, bookings will be automatically cancelled and our ‘Cancellation & Refunds’ policy will apply.

If you are making a booking within the ‘Final Payment Due’ period of your selected cruise, full payment is required at the time of booking.

Cruise Tickets

After you have paid your deposit, we will give you instructions to complete an online check-in via the Carnival Australia cruises website. You will be required to enter in your passport information and nominate an emergency contact person.
Upon completion Carnival Cruises will will release the tickets to us and we will post these out to you in due course (within 40 days of your departure).

If this is not completed there will be delays with your documentation.

Please ensure you let us know if your postal address has changed.

Travel insurance

We strongly recommend you purchase appropriate international travel insurance as soon as you pay your deposit. If you do not purchase travel insurance, you will not be able to recover cancellation charges, medical costs, repatriation and other expenses that may arise if things do not go according to plan.

Cancellation & Refunds

Reservations will be held until 30 minutes prior to departure. No refunds will be made in the event of "no shows", unused tickets, lost tickets, interruptions, partially used tickets, or cancellations received less than 14 days prior to departure or after the start of the cruise.

Your fare

Your fare is determined by the fare type, the number of guests in your stateroom, its location on the ship, the amenities offered, port charges, government taxes and any applicable airfares including taxes and fees. Child fares, where available, only apply when children are the third (3rd) or fourth (4th) guest in a stateroom and are aged under 13 years. Once booked, your fare is only subject to any increased taxes. You will be notified of this before it is added to your fare or to your on board account.

Fare changes

Sometimes we will release promotional fares. These can be offered and withdrawn at any time. If after booking you decide to change to one of these promotional fares, you will need to cancel your existing booking and our ‘Cancellation & Refunds’ policy will apply.

Stateroom Changes

When making a booking with a specific stateroom number, please advise us or your Travel Agent if you do not want your stateroom changed. This means that you would not be offered a complimentary upgrade to a higher priced category, if one was to become available. Please note that Carnival reserves the right to move you from a previously assigned stateroom for operational reasons, which include and are not limited to the following: when the number of people booked in the stateroom is less than the number of beds in the stateroom, or to accommodate a guest with a special medical condition;. disabled guests have priority over staterooms designed for the physically disabled.

In addition, when a booking is made and a specific stateroom number is not selected (known as a ‘Guarantee’), the stateroom will be allocated at our discretion in the category booked, or a higher priced category, at a later date, up to departure.

We may elect to impose a fuel supplement at any time, in which case any additional fees will apply to new bookings only. The total price quoted to you at the time of booking will be inclusive of any applicable fuel supplement.

If a cancelling guest was the only person that qualified the booking for a promotional fare (eg. past guest fare), additional and remaining guests will no longer be entitled to this promotional fare. The booking will revert to a different fare and the remaining guests will need to pay the difference in cost, if any. Changes can only be made up to 72 hours before departure.

^ Additional fees charged by airlines will be passed on to the passengers.

Should you decide to upgrade/downgrade your cabin category or sailing date, any onboard credit benefits may drop.

Once you have paid a deposit against your cruise, any other changes made to the booking will incur an amendment fee of $50 plus any applicable fees set you by the cruise line.

We can't accept any guests onboard who have entered their 24th week or later of pregnancy by the end of their cruise. Guests who are pregnant during their cruise need to supply a Doctors 'Fit to travel' note, including your estimated due date, prior to embarkation. If this applies to you please call us.

Minimum age to travel

To ensure there is suitable supervision, there needs to be at least one passenger 18 years or older in each cabin. However, to accommodate families cruising together, children may occupy a separate cabin to their parent/legal guardian, providing one child is 16 years or over.

For cruises departing from an Australian port between 1 November and 7 January, any passenger under 19 years of age on the day they board the cruise, must travel in the same stateroom as a responsible adult 19 years or older. In addition, from 8 January to 31 January, there is a limit on the number of passengers under 19 years of age who can travel unaccompanied. Once the limit is reached, a responsible adult 19 years or older must travel in the same stateroom. We can advise you at the time of booking whether the limit applies to your booking. The responsible adult is accountable for passengers under 19 years of age in their stateroom for the duration of the cruise, and the ‘Rights of the Captain’ will be applied to anyone who displays disruptive behaviour.

We welcome children 12 months and over to cruise with us. We are unable to accommodate infants under 12 months due to limited neo-natal facilities on board and at ports of call.

Children & Teenagers

Parents/Legal guardians are responsible for children and teenagers at all times. If a child or teenager displays dangerous or disruptive behaviour, the ‘Rights of the Captain’ will be applied to both parent/legal guardian and child/teenager. Children’s access to pools and spas may be restricted and adult supervision is required at all times. Guests under the age of 18 are not permitted in child free areas such as Serenity.

Children's Centres

Centre Attendance Requirements:

Carnival Cruise Lines Youth programs provide highly engaging age-appropriate activities for children and teenagers between the ages of 2 and 17 years old. Carnival’s policy is to group children together according to their age. Youth Program age policies are in place so that we can provide participants with age appropriate activities and so they can mingle with children their own age. The age of the child on the day they board the cruise is the age we use for the entire holiday.

Baby Sitting:

For the convenience of our guests, Camp Carnival offers babysitting services for children aged between 12 months to 11 years each evening, from 10:00pm to 3:00am at an additional fee.

Requirements to Travel

To ensure that your holiday goes smoothly, prior to your cruise, you must obtain the appropriate documentation to visit each of the destinations on your selected itinerary. Passports, visas, vaccinations and other travel documentation are your responsibility. Without the necessary passport, visas and/or vaccinations, local authorities may deny you boarding, prevent you from going ashore, issue a fine or deny the ship entry into the port. It is also your responsibility to ensure you have all the necessary documentation which permits you to travel. If you do not have all the necessary documentation, you may be denied boarding and no refunds will be given. International Cruises:

For international cruises (cruises that visit a foreign port), passports are required for all guests and must be valid for a minimum of six (6) months beyond the date of the cruise return.

Domestic Cruises:

For domestic cruises (cruises that do not visit a foreign port), a valid passport or government issued photo identification is required (Queensland Proof of Age cards will only be accepted if issued after October 2011). For Australian domestic cruises, a current Medicare card can be used for guests under 18 years of age. For New Zealand domestic cruises, an original or certified copy of the child’s birth certificate or a school pass with photo will be accepted for guests under 18 years of age.

Alcohol & Gambling

We are committed to the responsible service of alcohol. There may be times when we consider it appropriate to refuse the service of alcohol to a passenger for any reason. Passengers must be 18 years or over to purchase or consume alcohol, or gamble on board. Government issued photo identification may be requested (Queensland Proof of Age cards will not be accepted). Any alcohol purchased ashore will be collected at the gangway for safe keeping and will be returned to you on the last day of your cruise.

Your Health

We care about the health and safety of our guests. If you or anyone from your travelling party has a physical disability or medical condition which may require special assistance during the voyage, please advise us at the time of booking; failure to do so may release Carnival from any liability for loss, damages or other compensation arising from or related in any way to such disability or condition . To better assist you, if you have a medical condition that requires medical attention, medication, or special treatment, we may ask you to complete a health questionnaire.

Passengers that need assistance should always be accompanied by a carer to help with day to day activities as our crew and medical staff are unable to act as personal carers.

On board Medical Centre

Each ship has a Medical Centre that is staffed by registered doctors and nurses, who are available during scheduled clinic times to provide medical care for everyone on board. They are also available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for medical emergencies. Our Medical Centre is only for medical needs arising on board and cannot cater for treatments that you know you will require while on holiday. While at sea or in port the availability of medical care may be limited or delayed; all or part of the cruise may be in areas where medical care and evacuation may not be available.

Medical Liability Limitation:

We are not a healthcare provider and may not be held liable for the sickness, injury or death of any guest arising from any advice, treatment, care, services or any omission by medical staff. These medical providers exercise their own medical judgement and expertise.

On board Medical Charges

All cruises on our ships are outside the scope of Australian Medicare, New Zealand Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) and private health insurance. Consultations, treatments and medication are charged at private rates and must be paid by you and claimed through your travel insurance.

Ship & Itinerary Changes

We will do everything we reasonably can to make sure everything goes according to plan; however, sometimes changes can happen that may affect your holiday experience. This could include weather, mechanical difficulties, civil unrest or any other unforeseen circumstances.

In addition, we may charter all or part of the ship, or remove the ship from service where this becomes necessary. We may change the itinerary, ship or cancel the cruise due to operational or commercial requirements.

We will notify you of these changes as soon as we can. Where we cancel a cruise or make a significant change to the ports in your itinerary prior to departure, you will have the choice of:

  1. the new itinerary;

  2. transferring all monies paid to an alternative cruise of comparable standard, if available; or

  3. cancelling the cruise for a full refund of your fare paid.

Once your cruise has commenced, if we are required to change the itinerary or cancel the cruise due to safety, maritime law, severe weather or to protect human life or health, we are not required to provide any compensation unless consumer laws provide otherwise. With this in mind, please do not make any important arrangements or meetings based on the proposed itinerary.

Rights of the Captain

If a passenger seriously affects the safety, well-being or enjoyment of themselves or any other person on board, the Captain has the right to confine, sedate or disembark the passenger. In such cases, we are not responsible for any expenses including your return home. In addition, you will not be entitled to any refunds. While the Captain will always act reasonably in these circumstances, you accept that the safety, well-being and enjoyment of everyone on board, comes first.

Leaving the cruise early

You agree to return to the ship not less than 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Shipboard and shore side clocks may have different times, but it is Guest’s responsibility to return to the vessel so as not to miss ship’s departure. If you are required, or choose, to leave the cruise for any reason (unless caused by our proven negligence or failure to provide services with due care and skill and that are reasonably fit for purpose), we are not responsible for the cost associated with transporting you to rejoin the ship or return home; Guest is responsible for the cost of the transfer, including but not limited to, governmental fees, visa fees, subsistence, lodging, air fare, launch fare, car hire or agency fees. This also applies if you do not return to the ship in time for sailing after a port visit. If we assist with any costs, you will need to repay us on your return. In addition, you will not be entitled to any refunds.

Legal Matters

In the unlikely event you have reason to take legal action, you agree to use all reasonable efforts to bring the issue to our attention as soon as possible.

This contract is governed by the laws in force in New South Wales. You agree that any action you bring against us will be brought in New South Wales.

If you have a claim against us, you agree only to bring action against us and not any of our related bodies corporate as defined in the Corporations Act 2001(Cth).

Where consumer laws and other laws permit us to exclude our liability, we will not be liable for:

  • loss of, or damage to, any luggage or other belongings

  • sickness, injury or death, unless caused by our proven negligence or failure to provide services with due care and skill and that are reasonably fit for purpose.

In addition, our liability will be reduced in proportion to any negligence or fault on your part.
