Our #BestCruiseView competition uncovered some treasures. These pictures are what we love about cruising!

The #BestCruiseView competition ended on the 13th of July, and during the month it ran we received hundreds if not thousands of gorgeous photos from all of your fantastic cruise holidays and you made it very tough for our panel of judges to narrow the choices. However, it came down to one beautiful image. Congratulations to Kylie Blakers, who won the 12-night Emerald Princess cruise to New Zealand with this stunner. What did we love about this? Everything! The colour, the bright and beautiful flower, the sandy beach that conjures the feeling of tropical sunshine and warm breezes - plus of course that ship peeking out from behind the tree! This picture sums up some of the best aspects of cruising.

Cruise in paradise

Kylie, we hope you enjoy your cruise - and put those photography skills to good use in the splendid Land of the Long White Cloud!

Some staff favourites

Kylie's image was not the only gorgeous one we received! Here are a few favourites from some of our staff members which were wonderful but didn't quite make it to the top spot for the prize, starting with my own pick.

Sarah G's fav cruise view:

Buoy view

I love the composition of this image, the sunset colours and how they match so well with the orange life ring. What a quintessential cruise image, combining nautical and scenic to perfection!

Meghan's fav cruise view:

Snorkell cruise

Meghan says, "This photo gives me that floating freely, switching between exploring the ocean floor and soaking up the sun kind of feel. And with the cruise ship in view, knowing I have plenty more fun to look forward to later on. Holiday goodness."

Kristof's fav cruise view:

Milford sound cruise

Kristof says, Milford Sound is among the most photographed places on Earth, but this shot offers a different perspective on this stunning spot while still conveying the power and majesty of the Sound.

Monika's fav cruise view:

Cruising away

Monika says, "For me cruising is about a great ship, a lovely destination and an adventure: This image captures all of these. In the centre: the fabulous Carnival ship - home away from home, an oasis of comfort and fun, add to it the mysterious blue of the sea and the vivid green of the land plus the dark clouds and you are in the middle of an amazing adventure!"

Sarah L's fav cruise view:

Observation deck

Sarah says: thought there was something picturesque about the image, with it capturing both the stunning mountain landscape, and the figure of a person looking out at the view from the observation deck on board.

Charlotte's fav cruise view:

sunset on a cruise

Charlotte says: love the colours of the sky, I think it's so calming with the yellow, blues and dusky rose against the cruise ship's outline. The whole image instantly makes me relax and that is exactly how I envision a cruise to be. Relaxing.

Ryan's fav cruise view:

Ryan says: Alright, this wasn't actually an entry to the competition, and I might be a bit biased, but don't you agree this is the #CutestCruiseView?!

Thank you to everyone who entered the competition. We received many wonderful photos, and will likely continue to feature these on the Cruise Sale Finder Facebook page. If you're itching to take more, find a cruise that suits you and begin making memories!

I have enjoyed visiting as much of the world as possible over the years. Europe and the Mediterranean are personal favourites, but there is so much to see very close to our little Australasian corner of the globe- one of my top travel experiences was snorkeling with tropical fish and turtles in New Caledonia! Cruising is a fantastic way to see it all, and we hope to make booking a cruise easier for both first-timers and old salts. From ship tips to destination news and views, we will keep you up-to-date. Happy cruising!
