Enjoy your 14-night Exploring the Isthmus Voyage cruise to:

Caldera, Costa Rica
Caldera, Costa Rica has been a working port since 1577, and now over four centuries later, it’s the gateway to an abundance of riches. It serves as the primary access point from the Pacific Coast to Costa Rica’s historic capital, San Jose, while some of the country’s best national parks are located just a short distance away. Just 20 miles south of Caldera are two forest reserves—the Biological Reserve of Carara, and a preserve that encompasses the islands of Guayabo, Negritos and Los Pajaros—and both are known for their large and diverse populations of forest and aquatic birds.

Puntarenas, Costa Rica
With its coastline filled with beaches, islands, inlets, and natural treasures, Puntarenas is a gateway to a myriad of outdoor attractions, including boat trips through the mangroves, canopy zip line tours, butterfly gardens, horseback riding, and sport fishing. Take a catamaran to the nearby Isla of Tortuga for its white sand beaches, snorkeling, and swimming, go river rafting down the Corobici River, or explore the Mangrove Forest on the north side of the peninsula to see crocodiles, herons, and more.

San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua
With its pristine shoreline, golden sands and gorgeous cliffs, it’s easy to understand why San Juan del Sur is one of Nicaragua’s most popular resort destinations. It’s the gateway to over a dozen beaches, all within a few miles of the town center, and offering beautiful opportunities for sun, sand, surf, and sport fishing.

Acajutla, El Salvador
Located in southwest El Salvador, the Pacific coast town of Acajutla was founded in 1524 and is the country’s primary seaport. It’s also a gateway to canopy tours of the Apaneca forests, day trips to the Izalco Volcano and beautiful beaches like Los Cabanos, which is popular amongst surfers and divers.

Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala
As Guatemala’s largest Pacific port, Puerto Quetzal is both an important cargo destination for the country and the main gateway to an array of outdoor activities and sightseeing adventures. Visit nearby Iztapa for tuna and marlin fishing, take a tour of a coffee or sugar cane plantation, or unwind at the beach in Balneario Likín, a popular Guatemalan resort town.

Huatulco, Mexico
With its myriad of fabulous beaches, resorts, golf courses, marinas, horse stables, trendy restaurants, and a vibrant nightlife, Huatulco is quickly gaining a reputation as one of Mexico’s great resort towns. Beautiful bays like Bahia de Santa Cruz, Bahia Chahue, and Bahia Tangolunda surround the town, so scuba diving, snorkeling, and sailing are very popular recreational activities. Meanwhile the nearby beach towns of Puerto Angel and Puerto Escondido are renowned amongst surfers everywhere, and are perfect destinations for a day trip.

Manzanillo, Mexico
Spectacularly situated on the Pacific coast of Mexico, the seaside resort town of Manzanillo is one of the country’s best-kept secrets. It has all the charms of an old-world Mexican fishing village combined with the amenities of a luxurious and eco-friendly beach destination. Narrow streets weave their way up the hillsides, and give way to panoramic ocean views, lush greenery, and a stunning mountain coastline. Its twin bays accent its natural beauty, while beaches of gold and ebony volcanic sand make for wonderful scuba diving, snorkeling, and beachcombing.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Located on the Pacific Coast of Mexico, and surrounded by the Sierra Madre Mountains and Banderas Bay, Puerto Vallarta has been a popular resort town for decades. Its subtropical climate, gentle breezes, and turquoise blue waters—combined with award-winning restaurants and vibrant nightlife—makes Puerto Vallarta a picture-perfect destination, whether you’re looking for sun, sand and surf, or a night on the town. The beaches are legendary, including Playa de Oro (Gold Beach), Los Muertos, and the famed Mismaloya Beach, where John Huston shot the film The Night of the Iguana.

Located at the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula in the Mexican state of Baja California Sur, Cabo San Lucas is one of Mexico’s leading tourist destinations. Its unique combination of beautiful beaches, desert terrain, and mountains are a nature lover’s delight. One of its most popular eco-attractions for tourists and sea lions alike is El Arco de Cabo San Lucas (or “Lands End, Cabo San Lucas”), a gorgeous rock formation found at Cabo’s southern tip.

San Diego, California
Just 120 miles south of Los Angeles is the beautiful laid-back city of San Diego, a popular year-round destination due to its Mediterranean climate, 70 miles of coastline, great beaches, diverse neighborhoods, and a book’s worth of attractions. Visit the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum, go to Torrey Pines State Reserve for picture-perfect views, watch seals in action at Sunset Cliffs Natural Park, enjoy a variety of watersports at Mission Bay, or stroll along the oceanfront promenade to the legendary Hotel del Coronado.
